Alex Soojung-Kim Pang is a bestselling author, futurist, speaker, and consultant whose work explores the relationship between work, rest, technology, productivity, and human flourishing. He is widely recognized for helping organizations and leaders rethink long-held assumptions about busyness, burnout, creativity, and performance.

Alex is the author of several influential books including Rest: Why You Get More Done When You Work Less, Shorter: Work Better, Smarter, and Less — Here’s How, Work Less, Do More: Designing the 4 Day Week, and The Distraction Addiction. His research combines neuroscience, psychology, history, and organizational behavior to show how deliberate rest, deep focus, and shorter working hours can lead to greater creativity, sustainability, and better work.

A former Silicon Valley futurist and technology forecaster, Alex has advised startups, Fortune 100 companies, nonprofits, and governments on the future of work and organizational design. He is the founder of Strategy + Rest and has also served as Director of Research and Programs at 4 Day Week Global, one of the leading organizations advancing four-day workweek experiments around the world.

Alex earned his PhD in the history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania and has been affiliated with Stanford University as a visiting scholar.
