Walk the final stretch of the Camino Francés into Santiago
Interested in more details about this Self-Guided Journey?

Overview

This is a self-guided journey along the Camino Francés, beginning in Ponferrada and finishing in Santiago de Compostela.

It is a meaningful stretch of the Camino. Long enough to settle into the rhythm, and well suited to a two-week window.

You begin in the Bierzo region, moving through vineyards and historic towns before the landscape begins to shift. The climb toward O Cebreiro marks a turning point, both physically and visually, as you cross into Galicia and the terrain becomes greener and more textured.

The days build gradually.

Some are steady and open. Others ask more of you, especially as the route moves through rolling hills and the well-known ascent to O Cebreiro. It is a demanding stretch, and for many, one of the most memorable.

This is a self-guided experience.

Your route is mapped.
Your accommodations are arranged.
Your luggage moves ahead.

You walk at your own pace, stopping in villages, taking your time with meals, and finding your own rhythm within a path that has been followed for centuries.

And then the final approach.

From Monte do Gozo, the towers of the cathedral come into view for the first time. From there, the path carries you into the heart of Santiago.

You don’t just arrive.
You walk in.
